On the Day of Walk to Defeat MND

Preparing for the Walk

What should I wear?

We encourage participants to wear their t-shirts from previous years’ events. Please visit the Merchandise stand in the Walk Village if you would like to purchase a new t-shirt for $20 to wear on the Walk. We also recommend wearing enclosed shoes and comfortable clothes for walking in.

If you’re thinking of wearing a beanie to keep your head warm, we encourage you to buy and wear one of our MNDSA beanies available at the Merchandise stand.

It may also be worthwhile bringing a hat and sunscreen just in case the day is warm and sunny!

Is there anything I should bring?

We encourage all Walk participants to bring their own water bottle or consider purchasing an MNDSA one from the Merchandise stand.

A small backpack may also be useful to carry any merchandise you buy or fruit/snacks/drinks you collect from our sponsors.

Walkers may also consider bringing a cap and sunscreen if the day is forecast to be sunny!

Can I bring my dog?

Walk to Defeat MND is dog-friendly event and we even have dog bandanas and homemade dog biscuits available to purchase at the Merchandise stand in Walk Village just for them. Dogs must be leashed at all times and you will also need to clean up after them.
